The young Warriors kick off their tournament season on the 2nd June when they travel to Colchester to take on the home team Gladiators, Kent Exiles and London Olympians.
"We've recruited some new exciting players, that I'm sure once they get some playing experience will enhance greatly what we have been doing at the Warriors over the past few years." Program Director Gerry Anderson
The Warriors, 2010 National champions kick off the tournament against the Olympians who ironically the Warrior seniors play next week, the Olympians came out swinging scoring on thier first drive with a long run. The Warriors defense tightened and the offense started to click. It was a close in the end the Warriors came out winners 19-14.
Next came the Kent Exiles who were armed with a power running game, which the Warriors defense had trouble stopping. In the end the Exlies ran away with the win 31-14.
The last game came against hosts Colchester Gladiators this was a close game which was decided in the closing seconds. The Warriors eventually came out winners 20-14 when a interception in the closing seconds thwarted the Gladiators last drive. The Warriors ended 2-1 in their first tournament. For the Majority of the Warrior team it was their first ever game so a good result and something positive to build on.
The next tournament is on the 16th June hosted by the Farnham Knights, here they will face the London Olympians, Cornish Sharks and the hosted Farnham Knights.
