JUNIOR KITTED DO WELL IN KENT

This weekend May 8th, 2010, The London Warriors Junior kitted team opened its 2010 American football season, on a positive note by winning all of their games. They opened up the season with a 13 person roster with the following returning players: Ben, Oli, James, Jamal, Elijah and Fabien, and the following new team members: Anton, "T", Zach, Ricardo, the first female member of the Junior Warriors, Riana, Hiren, and Ryan who both moved up from the Warriors Junior flag program.

Game 1     Warriors vs. Marlow Wolves

The Warriors opened the game on the first play from scrimmage with a run by Anton who ran the length of the field to open the scoring. The Extra point was good making the score at 7 to 0 Warriors.

The Wolves came right back down the field with a series of plays to tie the score at 7 to 7. The Warriors offence, stormed right back, moving the ball both on the ground and in the air. QB Ben hit Jamal over the right side, where Jamal caught the ball in his finger tips, pulled it down and ran it in for the second touchdown of the game for the young Warriors. Again the extra point attempt was good making the score to 14 to 7. Again the Wolves came right back and drove down field with a number of runs and passes to score on their second drive. However on their extra point attempt, “T” stepped in front to deflect the pass keeping the Warriors in front, 14 to 13. The tenacious Warriors offence came right back marching down the field with a series of runs and passes, culminating with a touchdown pass from Ben to Anton. However, this time the extra point attempt was no good. Warriors 20, Wolves 13.

On the Wolves next possession, the Warriors defence woke up, coming up with a number of pass deflections by both “T” and Ben. The defence held the Wolves from scoring, so there was a turnover on downs. The Warriors offence came right back down the field with this drive culminating with a touchdown pass from Ben to Oli. This time the extra point attempt was good bringing the score to 27 to 13 at the half.

The second half opened with the Warriors defence making a big stand and not allowing much for the Wolves to do, including a 4th down sack by James. The Warriors offence marched back down the field, before Ben under pressure from the Wolves Nose Tackle, threw an interception. The Wolves marched back down the field to score a TD but the extra point once again was knocked away by “T”. The Warriors offence looking to make up for the previous possession marched down the field with a series of runs and pass plays that got them down to the 5 yard line. This time they scored when Ben completed a pass to James. The Extra point attempt was good making the final score to 34 to 19.

Game 2      Warriors vs. Coventry Jets

The Warriors opened this game on offence driving down the field and scoring on a pass from Ben to Oli, but the extra point attempt was incomplete. Warriors up  6 to 0. The Jets came out on offence with a series of runs and passes driving down the field. Their drive culminated with a touchdown tying the score at 6. The extra point attempt was no good.

The Warriors offence marched right back down the field, scoring on a run by Anton for a TD. This time the extra point was good, bringing the score to 13 to 6 in favour of the young Warriors. However, the Jets marched right back down the field aided by a number of missed tackles by the Warriors defence, tying the game at 13, with a touchdown and extra point.. The Warriors offence took over once again and marched down the field. This drive ended with a touchdown pass from Ben to Oli, but the extra point conversion was no good. The score now stood at 19 to 13. The Warriors held the Jets from scoring before the half. On the opening drive of the second half, the Warriors defence putting a lot of pressure on the Jets QB, held them from scoring, with Hiren just missing a sack twice on the drive. This caused a turnover on downs, and the Warriors offence once again drove down the field, with the final play being a TD pass from Ben to James. The Extra point was good to bring the score to 26 to 13.  The Jets came right back down the field to score and stay in the game to bring the score to 26 to 20, on a run down the left sideline. The Warriors offence did not give in and drove down the field once again, this time culminating in a touchdown on a run by Anton, the extra point was good on a pass from Ben to Anton to close the scoring at 33 to 19, to the Warriors.

Game 3     Warriors vs. Kent Exiles

This game was much different than the first 2 for the Warriors. The bad weather and long day had them tired and dragging a bit. The game opened up with the Exiles on offence driving briefly, but the Warriors defence stopped them on fourth down. The Warriors offence moved the ball a bit but due to an incomplete pass turned the ball over on downs.  The Exiles came back on offence moving the ball down the field but Ben stepped in front of a would be receiver, intercepting the pass, ran the ball back for a touchdown on a “pick 6”. The extra point was good on a pass from Ben to Oli, putting the Warriors up 7 to 0 over the Exiles. On the next offensive possession of the Exiles they went 4 and out. This was then answered by the Warriors offence who also had a 4 and out, for only the second time of the day. This brought us to half time.

In the second half, the Warriors came out fighting, driving down the field, with the big play being a pass from Ben to Fabien for a touchdown. The extra point was no good. The Exiles came right back and drove down the field for a score of their own, including a converted extra point, putting the score at 13 to 7. The Warriors came right back down the field getting a first and goal on the Exiles 5 yard line. However 4 straight dropped passes in the end zone by Warrior receivers turned the ball over on downs.   The Exiles came back driving the ball down the field, but an  interception by Oli  stopped them in their tracks. The Warriors drove back down the field and yet more dropped passes kept them from scoring. The clock then ran out leaving the Warriors with their third victory of the day, with the final score being 13 to 7.

The London Warriors youth and senior programs faced the London Blitz equivalent at Finsbury Park, North London on Sunday

First up was the youth teams and with a Warriors offense led by rookie Quarterback, Lewis Popely making vital mistakes at crucial moments, the Blitz jumped out to a 26 -0 halftime lead.

In the second half the Warriors made some improvement and were able to move the ball but again, mistakes at critical times hurt them. With the defense playing well they were able to restore some pride as the game ended 28 - 2.

"We made errors that cost us our momentum and gave the Blitz the opportunity to dominate the game and they took full advantage. We have to reduce the errors before we travel to Reading to face the Rebels, so we have a lot of work to do" Coach Gerry Anderson

The Warriors Youth team faces the Reading Rebels at Prospect Park, Reading this Sunday 2 May, kick off 12.30pm

Following the youth game the Warrior programs senior team, the Cobras went down 14 - 7 to the reigning national champions Blitz in a fiercely contested match up. With the Warriors defence stifling a well respected running game it was left to their QB, Fred Boyle to make several big plays to keep the Blitz on track helping them to get into the end zone on 2 occasions.

The Cobras led by former Warrior youth players Quarterback Jerome Allen, Wide receiver Manny Mukoro and safety Ariel Mofondo, the Cobras were always in the game and but for a turn over on the Blitz goal line, the result may have been different

"Right now I'm so proud of our players. To take on the National champions in our first ever Premiership game and give such a good account of ourselves, I hope will give them the confidence to get better and be able to compete with the other premiership teams this season". Coach Tony Allen

The Cobras face another tough challenge when they face the Bristol Aztecs at the Filton Wise campus, Bristol this Sunday, kick off 2.30pm

SCOTT ROWE JOINS

THE WARRIOR FAMILY

The London Warriors American Football Program is pleased to announce that Coach Scott Rowe has joined the organisation for their 2010 campaign.

Rowe will join as Assistant Defensive Co-ordinator and Special Teams Co-ordinator to the programs senior team, the London Cobras

Rowe joins after spending two successful years at the Kent Exiles – serving as Defensive co-ordinator at the Exiles in 2008 where he produced one of Division One’s top defenses, before taking the 7-3 Exiles to the division 1 playoffs last year as Head Coach.

Rowe started his coaching career at the London Olympians in 2006 & 2007, where he worked primarily with Defensive Backs and Special Teams.

As a player, Rowe enjoyed a stellar 18-year playing career at defensive back. As a youth player, he starred for the Kent Rams Juniors, London Olympians, and the GB Crusaders before graduating to the senior ranks at the Olympians.

He was a key member of the Olympians dominant squad of the early 1990’s, winning 2 Eurobowl titles and several domestic crowns, under the guidance of current Cobra Head Coach Tony Allen.

With the help of former Olympian defensive co-ordinator Andy Cox, Rowe went on to spend 2 years at Nicholls State University in Louisiana, USA, before returning to Europe and playing professionally in Spain and Germany.

In 1998, Rowe returned to the London Olympians and was a key factor in the numerous championships claimed by the O’s until his retirement after the 2005 season.

Regarded by many as one of the finest DB’s ever produced in the UK, Rowe also claimed several GB Lion caps and was part of the London Monarchs developmental squad. He has also previously coached with the GB Lions senior squad and has just recently been appointed as Special Teams Co-ordinator for the GB Lions Youth Squad.

Commenting on his appointment, Rowe said, “I’m extremely excited to be coaching with the Cobras, and to be back in the Premiership again. I’ve seen firsthand, (the Exiles played the Cobras twice last season), what an athletic and talented group of players there are down here, and in Coach Allen, I couldn’t ask for a better mentor. I had a great two years at Kent, who are a great organisation, and I hope that they continue to go from strength to strength, but I’m looking forward to the challenges that 2010 will produce”.

Tony Allen, Head coach of the London Cobras said “The recruitment of Scott is huge for the Cobras and Warrior program. He has a wealth of playing and coaching experience at many levels and I am excited about working along side him once again

Following an announcement by Former Warrior Coach Jeff Reinebold, the London Warriors would like to issue a message of support to one of their family friend and mentor.

Jeff, now coaching Wide Receivers at Southern Methodist University (SMU) posted his announcement on a social network site:

"DALLAS THURS PM..GOD GAVE ME A GIFT THIS MONTH..TWO WEEKS AGO I WAS DIAGNOSED WITH CANCER..IT IS A GIFT THAT COMES WITH LESSONS..NO SYMPATHY, ONLY WARRIORS GET THIS LESSON..HUMBLY, I KNOW I WAS SELECTED FOR THIS..AN OPPORTUNITY TO LIVE IN FAITH..TO GET TO THE HIGHEST LEVEL..TO TRULY BE "IRON LIKE A LION IN ZION"..PONY UP!" Jeff Reinebold

In 2005 Jeff was the original offensive co-ordinator of the London Warriors  Youth program before handing over the reins upon his return to the states, where he first Coached at Hawaii University before recently returning there with SMU and winning the Hawaii Bowl game by comprehensively beating pre game favourites Nevada.

"That's typical of Jeff always looking on negative situations as challenges rather than problems, an attitude he instils in the many people who comes into contact with him"

The Warrior Family is praying for one of their leaders and hope you'll join them in wishing Jeff nothing but positivity.

In true Reinebold style "Ya di ya da"

WARRIOR COACHES AT THE SUPER BOWL

Former Warrior Coach Jeff Reinebold, will be joined in the Sky Studios by current Warriors youth Head Coach Gerry Anderson this Sunday as New Orleans Saints take on the Indianapolis Colts in Super Bowl XLVI.

The game expecting to be one of the best will be discussed by the two friends hoping to bring their different insights into what should be a great game.

"I've know Jeff for a few years now from our time at NFL Europe together to when we spent a week in Spain coaching together. He's a great character who loves football something he often shows when addressing young coaches in the UK. I'm hoping that our relationship will see the Sky coverage excel" Gerry Anderson

In 2005 Jeff was the original offensive co-ordinator of the London Warriors  Youth program before handing over the reins to Gerry upon his return to the states, where he first Coached at Hawaii University before recently returning there with South Methodist University (SMU) and winning the Hawaii Bowl game by comprehensively beating pre game favourites Nevada.

Watch Jeff and Gerry on Sky Sports 11.pm Sunday night as they breakdown the live game coverage.

WARRIORS RETURN SUCCESS

Sunday 24th Jan -The Warrior program returned for its first practise session of of a snow affected 2010 and it was a great success. With 50+ youth players and 60+ seniors in attendance, the coaches had their work cut out. Add to that the Junior Kitted and flag participants that also turned up it means it was a very successful day for the program.

"It was great to see many new faces, veterans and rookies, as it means people are willing to come down and help make our program better rather than feeling that they may not be good enough. Another testament to the Warrior family feeling. Yes the 2010 journey has just begun, but like all journeys it begins with a very small step that gathers momentum as time goes by".

The Warriors program will continue to recruit players, coaches and volunteers, so if you're interested in joining the Warrior Family regardless of knowledge and experience, feel free to contact us at info@londonwarriorsafc.co.uk

WARRIORS RETURN

The London Warriors Urban American Football Program returns to practice this Sunday 24th January at Selhurst Astroturf, Dagnall Park, SE25 5PH. (2 min walk from Selhurst train station). Having to postpone their initial return due to the recently bad weather the Coaches realise they are behind in their preparations for the upcoming 2010 season.

Youth and Junior Kitted Players need to arrive by 10.30 and seniors at 12.00. Flag players will start at 11.00

Ideally all players will need to bring footwear for grass and Astroturf if possible, bottles of water and a change of clothes.

The program caters for participants from aged 10+ incorporating Flag Football, Junior (14-16), Youth (16-19) and senior (19+) kitted football providing a fundamental platform for not only players but also new, young coaches and volunteers to develop.

Boasting of a Junior Kitted program that made it to the National Finals last season, a  youth program who have won the National Championship 4 out of the 5 previous years and a senior program that has remained undefeated in it’s first 2 seasons in BAFL, the Warriors program focuses on the development of young players and have several in US Colleges at the moment. “Don’t get me wrong those young players at US colleges have done a lot to get there. They made the necessary changes to their lifestyles to realise their goals and getting into a US College is not an  easy accomplishment, but the reality is that they started at the Warrior program with no experience and with the good coaching and advice, developed some disciplined habits which has helped them pursue their dreams”  Gerry Anderson

Anyone and everyone is invited so come and join the Warrior program regardless of your skill level or experience.

If you are:

·         A player, wanting to learn and willing to commit to getting better,

·         A Volunteer looking to be involved in an exciting young developing program

DUE TO THE BAD WEATHER THE WARRRIORS RETURN TO PRACTISE HAS BEEN POSTPONED UNTIL THE 24TH JANUARY 2010.

“With the weather being as bad and unpredictable and the practise field being unusable for health and safety reasons (frozen), it has been decided to delay the return to practice by one week. Hopefully by next week the weather will have settled down and we can get on with the job of developing our program and players in preparation for the season’s journey ahead” Gerry Anderson

The London Warriors program is open to anyone interested in getting involved with American Football as a player, coach or volunteer.

We cater for flag football players aged 10+, Junior kitted players aged 14-16, youth kitted players, aged 16-19 kitted and a senior kitted team.

WARRIORS INVADE THE STATES

Several London Warrior graduates are chasing their dreams by taking their football prowess across the Atlantic, continuing their development as they reach for the sky in an effort to reach their footballing goals.

DAVID DOONER accepted the offer of a full scholarship and has joined the Globe Institute of Technology in Brooklyn New York. The Kicker and hero of the 2008 semi finals against the Farnham knights, where he kicked the game winning field goal in overtime has converted all but one of his field goals including a 45 yarder for the Globe.

Defensive Lineman, MICHAEL ADESINA a three time National Youth Champion and 2008 Team MVP has been state side for over a year now. Firstly attending Trinity Valley Community College in Texas before transferring to Hudson Valley Community college in New York where he has moved to Linebacker and in the first team rotation

Former wide receiver turned linebacker, DOMINIC FEVRIER-MCPHERSON a graduate from the Youth Program 2005 Youth National Champions and 2008 Division 2 Champions is also at Hudson Valley Community College.

Wide receiver & Defensive Back, JASON ALLEN who played for the 2007 and 2008 National Youth Championship campaign is at Nassau Community College in New York where he is continuing his development.

2008 BAFL youth Finals MVP, Quarterback DAYLE GREENFIELD was also offered a part scholarship but was unable to accept for personal reasons

Rookie youth Offensive Lineman, DAMILOLA MAKINDE was invited to a football camp at Morgantown High School home town of the West Virginia Mountaineers where he impressed not only the Morgantown coaches but the Head Coach of the Mountaineers.

Despite the London Warriors programs on the field successes, our main goals are to consistently produce good football players, with the best of them hopefully leaving our program and getting the opportunity to play at their highest level possible, wherever that maybe. US college, CFL, NFL wherever.

We as an organisation, believe if we are able to achieve this, we will remain competitive....

"It will be a great thrill for these young Warriors who for a vast majority of them attended their first  American football session earlier this year and for them to be playing in a national final.... wow! some people play sport all their lives and never play in a final. That's how special this weekend is to them" Gerry Anderson, Head of the Warrior Program

Sunday - Following on from the Juniors endeavours the Senior team of the Warrior program, the London Cobras, take to the field at 12.00pm where the will face the favourites, East Kilbride Pirates in what many see as possibly being the game of the weekend.

The Pirates an established former premiership team against last years Division 2 champions and still relatively new team on the block, London Cobras.

"Some people will dub this game England versus Scotland which in itself brings some more intensity to the game but for us, more importantly it shows the steady improvement we are making as a football program, even though for the first time in 5 seasons our youth program won't be represented at the finals" GA

Britbowl takes place at the Keepmoat Stadium, Doncaster, Gates open 11.00am on both days

TO COME & JOIN THE FAMILY

The London Warriors Urban American Football Program invites Players, coaches, volunteers, one and all to come and join in the Warrior experience. An experience that has seen the Junior Kitted program (14-16) reach their first national final this year, the 4 times national youth champions program (16-19) producing young players that are now exploring opportunities in the states as well as producing players that started and now help to maintain their undefeated senior program.

"We have come a long way since we joined the league in 2005 and refuse to take for granted that success will follow us because we have been successful without continuing the hard work that we have put in until now. Hard work that has seen several players cross to the other side of the Atlantic and continue their football education and development in the states. We also realise the importance of spreading the Warrior brand of football to anyone who's interested whether they have played our sport or not we will teach YOU how to play. Our only requirement is that YOU want to learn."

THE WARRIORS INVITES

"The real success isn't the number of new people who participated but the amount who have returned for consecutive sessions and expressed an intent to join our program" Gerry Anderson "This in itself is a great testament to the coaches, staff and veteran players of our program that the new visitors (hopefully members) should feel so included and part of the Warrior Family following their first visit"

COBRAS GOING TO BRITBOWL

The London Cobras will meet the East Kilbride Pirates in what could be their toughest challenge to date in their short history, when they meet at the Keepmoat Stadium in Doncaster to decide the National Division 1 champions at BritBowl XXIII.

The Pirates defeated the Cobras Division 2 bowl opponents from Britbowl XXII, Tamworth Phoenix to progress to the final in what many consider to be the match up of the 2 best teams in Division 1.

Cobras HC Tony Allen "I have been very fortunate to have coached in 23 UK national championships and my approach and preparation for those games will be a big part of the format and planning for BritBowl XXIII. The Pirates are formidable adversaries and with their premiership experience and athletes, they are obviously the favorites for this game. Our mind set will be no different than that of any other game, we will not take our opponents for granted and we will be working hard to get the team ready to play the Warrior/Cobra brand of Football"

The Cobras will be joined at BritBowl by their Junior Kitted team who open the Britbowl proceedings by taking on the Glasgow Tigers in the first junior kitted semi-final at 11.00am on Saturday. Victory in that game would see them take on the winners of the second semi-final, the Chorley Buccaneers or Clyde Valley Falcons.

Gerry Anderson, head of the London Warriors American Football program "Whilst I'm disappointed that our youth program will not be at Britbowl for the first time since 2005, and join our senior and junior teams in promoting our program, I'm naturally over the moon that our Junior team will be experiencing their first final and hope that they will totally enjoy the whole weekend"

Britbowl XXIII takes place on September 26 & 27 at the  Keepmoat Stadium, Doncaster with BAFL Junior contact semi-finals and final commencing at 11.00am contested by Chorley Buccaneers, Clyde Valley Falcons, Glasgow Tigers and London Warriors with the BAFL Youth Final on Saturday at 3.00pm, followed at 7.00pm by the BAFL 2 Final. The Junior Kitted arm of the London Warriors remained undefeated on Saturday as the defeated the Kent Exiles and London Blitz on their way to winning a BAFA southern conference tournament, hosted by the Warriors in Selhurst.

Led by tournament MVP Ben LoPrimo on both sides of the Ball, the Warriors were able to maintain their record with some stout defense and solid offense.

The Warriors opened the tournament against the Kent Exiles, who have steadily improved over the season with a 20 - 6 victory with LoPrimo opening the scoring and making a difficult one handed interception to snuff out a promising Exiles attack as they threatened to score.

With the Blitz being delayed the Exiles and Warriors decided to have a friendly to maximise the playing time of their players. When the Blitz turned up the game was in full flow. The teams decided  end it at half time with the scores level 13 -13 thanks to a last second play when QB Jake Simpson found LoPrimo who broke a tackle and ran down the sideline for the tying score.

With time pushing on the Exiles had to depart leaving a fresh Blitz team to face a slightly tiring Warrior team or so we thought....

The Warriors jumped out to an 18 - 0 lead midway through the first half and seem to be cruising to an easy victory with rookie LB Fabien Johnson-Sewell setting the tone by delivering a Steve Atwater - Christian Okoye type hit on the Blitz running back which saw both parties leave the field to catch their breath. "Gerry Anderson, head of the Warrior program said "It was a great hit, the type that causes you to turn away on impact, but would have been better if he had wrapped his arms as we keep trying to teach them"

With the Warriors tiring, the Blitz, with a never say die attitude soon found themselves back in the game by scoring 15 unanswered points to set up an exciting finish. As the game entered the final stages the Warriors increased their lead to 9 points, 24 -15. With both defenses stepping up, firstly with under 2 minutes to go in the game, the Blitz defense prevented the Warriors from running out the clock and took over on downs with just over a minute to spare. The Warriors defense held their nerves to  prevent a Blitz first down just short of the line on 4th down to turn the ball over on downs. The Warriors took a deep sigh of relief as they were able to run out the clock to claim a hard fought victory

A special mention goes out to rookie James Whitfield-Gilbert who in his first ever tournament pushed Ben all the way for tournament MVP with the same energy that he used to terrorise both sets of QB's and Centres all day. Coach Jamie Nelson "It was good to get the kids playing again and everyone enjoyed the day even the parents that came down to support their children. James was sensational considering it's his first ever tournament and was a handful all day"

WARRIORS YOUTH

The London Warriors programs' youth and Senior teams travelled to Kent to take on the Exiles at Crockenhill RFC on Sunday looking for victory's that would giving both teams a 5 - 0 start and control of their respective conferences

COBRAS

Having watched their youth teams first half display, it was now time for the Senior team to play the Exiles seniors in what many believed would be the Cobras stiffest test of the season. With all the pre-season banter following the schedule announcement, it was now time to walk the talk.

.

First up were the the reigning National youth Champions, the Warriors who won the toss and returned the kick off to the Exiles 40yd line. QB Nick Jacquet having missed last weeks encounter with the Mavericks due to injury didn't miss a heart beat as he dropped back and found last weeks starting QB but this week receiver Mike Green for 35yds followed by another completion to Green from 5yds for the opening score.

After some good Exiles gains the Warriors defense stiffened forcing them to punt from their 35yd line. Defensive captain Max Silbehorn burst through the protection blocked, recovered and returned the punt to the Exiles 25 yd line. On the very next play rookie RB Jak Allen ran the ball in for the TD increasing the lead to 12 - 0.

Not to be outdone by the offense or special teams the Warrior defense got themselves on the score sheet when DB Sam Fossey stepped in front of an errant pass and returned it to the endzone from the 35 yd for an 18 - 0 lead.

The following kick off resulted in a safety when the Exiles returner was tackled in their endzone for a 2 point score. The final score of the first quarter came when Nick found Mike for another score but this time from 22 yds with rookie RB Romel Lindsay-Douglas converting the PAT for a Warrior 28 - 0 first quarter lead.

The second quarter saw one of the funniest plays of the day. With the Exiles pressing for a score behind some tough running and smart play calling their QB dropped back looking for an open receiver, Max Silberhorn stepped in front of the pass and returned it 85 yds to the endzone running out of one of his shoes which came off at the midway point.

The defense kept up the pressure when LB Nigel Peart again intercepted the Exiles QB and returned it 44 yards to the Exiles 15. After a pass interference called against the Exiles, rookie RB Jamal Isaac-Shah ran the ball from the 3 for a 38-0 lead. The half ended when rookie DE Clayden Nicholson-Harrison playing in his first ever game sacked the QB on 3rd down then followed it up by blocking the punt. QB Nick wasted no time hooking up with Kerry Sevens for a 35yd score. The PAT was converted by another rookie RB Cristiano Santos..

The half ended with the Warriors 48 - 0 lead.

Although leading Head Coach Gerry Anderson wasn't pleased with the Warrior performance insisting that they have to   reduce their mental and technical errors if they want to repeat as National Champions.

The second half saw a much more controlled Warrior performance obviously having taken heed of their coaches words and they added another touchdown when RB Jamal scored the final TD of the day rounding off a 56-0 Warrior victory.

"The second half despite the lone TD was our better half. The first half lead allowed us to pay more attention to detail and ensure the players were following the assignments and responsibilities correctly." Gerry Anderson.......

The London Warriors program are still recruiting players for their football program so if you're aged 9+ you are invited to come and try flag football or kitted football, dependant on age at Selhurst Astroturf, Dagnall Park, SE25 5PH.

Having helped prepare the London Cobras for their undefeated, inaugural Britball season, Marvin then flew to Pittsburgh where he spent the season with the Steelers.

Whilst developing his skills, Marvin received great praise from his positional coach Randy Fichtner as he helped the Steelers prepare for each game throughout their winning season. click here for Marvin's interview

After a close fought first game the warriors just came out on the loosing end of the score against the Sussex Thunders 21 - 12.  The game for 3rd/4th place was a spirited fight but with the Warriors low on numbers fatigue started to set in and the gap in the score started to widen. The Warriors never game up and fought all the way to the final whistle loosing to the Leicester Eagles 53 -12. Leaving the London Warriors 4th place overall. After a disappointing championship tournament, London Warrior Lewis Popely showed his true calibre by taking the tournament MVP.
